Cocoa Body Butter

Cocoa Butter (Theobroma Cacao)

Cocoa Butter is derived from the bean grown inside a pod produced by the Theobroma Cacao Tree (pronounced: theo-broma ca-cow). The cocoa pod, a large gourd-shaped fruit, can each contain between 30 to 40 cocoa seeds.

Once harvested the seeds are fermented in banana leaves, dried, roasted and pressed, in order to release the vegetable fat from the beans, which we know as cocoa butter.

How can Cocoa butter benefit you?

Cocoa butter is high in antioxidants, which help fight off free radicals that damage and prematurely age skin cells. Not only is Cocoa Butter reputed to prevent stretch marks caused from pregnancy or weight gain, but it is also believed to help the healing of scars and has been noted to help skin irritations such as Eczema and Dermatitis.
